Whether you’re new to the faith or returning to us after some time outside of the fold, we’ll be there to welcome you in with open arms. As a Disciples of Christ church that believers in the life-changing power of Christ’s love, we want to help you find the peace that comes when He walks alongside you in life.
First and foremost, we know that Christ lived, died, and was reborn as a way to forgive the sins of the world. Because of this, we have an opportunity to serve Him here on Earth in order to attain eternal life in Heaven. To accept Christ into your life, we believe that you must undergo baptism by immersion in the waters of forgiveness.
We believe in the importance of church unity. All Christians should cooperate in ministry wherever possible, affirming each other as sisters and brothers in Christ. When you worship with our Christian church community, everyone is welcome, and we want you to come as you are. We are a ministry for all believers. Both pastors and laypeople should be able to direct worship, lead ministries, and nurture spiritual growth of all of our members. We are all ordained by God to be representatives of Him here on Earth. At First Christian Church of Idaho Falls, all of our disciples are called together around one essential of tenant: the belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
At our core, we are a movement for Christ. As His disciples, we strive for a sense of wholeness in a fragmented world. The vision of our Christian church can be found in Micah 6:8 where it says, “To be a faithful, growing church, that demonstrates true community, deep Christian spirituality, and a passion for justice.” Community, both in and out of the church, is where we thrive and grow. We want everyone to know that Jesus Christ is our Lord, He died for us, and He will come again to usher us into a glorious eternity with Him. As Acts 1:8 says, “To be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving, and serving from our doorsteps to the ends of the earth.” As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us.
